Before my husband and I started trying to get pregnant, I asked the same question that so many other women ask. "What can I do to prepare my body for pregnancy?" After searching on my own and asking my primary care provider, the only thing I got was to take a prenatal vitamin and a generic recommendation to "eat healthy".

It wasn't until years later, when I stumbled into the world of functional nutrition, that I finally learned about how a preconception diet set the stage for a healthy pregnancy and postpartum. I've since shifted my entire practice as a registered dietitian to focus on helping women become nourished for pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond.
